FILA Sponsors Wilayah Persekutuan Tennis Team in Malaysia, Expanding Sports Marketing
[Seoul, South Korea - August 28, 2026] Misto Group announced that its Malaysian subsidiary, Misto Malaysia, has signed an official sponsorship agreement with the Wilayah Persekutuan tennis team, expanding FILA’s presence in competitive tennis in Malaysia and building on the brand’s more than 100-year heritage in sport.
Representing Malaysia’s federal territories, including the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, the Wilayah Persekutuan tennis team is a strong presence on the national tennis scene. At the 2026 SUKMA National Games, the team won six of the seven gold medals in tennis, including both the men’s and women’s team titles.
SUKMA is Malaysia’s largest national multi-sport event, bringing together athletes representing states and federal territories from across the country, and is widely regarded as one of the country’s premier sporting competitions.
As part of the sponsorship, Misto sponsored more than 650 pieces of FILA tennis apparel and footwear to 12 athletes and 5 coaches. The team wore FILA apparel and tennis shoes while competing at major events, including the Kuala Lumpur Open Tennis Championship (KL Open), held from July 28 to August 2, and the SUKMA National Games, held from August 15 to 24.
The partnership puts FILA’s performance products directly into competitive play while creating new opportunities for the brand to engage with athletes and the wider sports community in Malaysia. Working through its local team, Misto plans to deepen FILA’s ties with athletes and sports communities and continue building the brand’s performance credentials in the market.
The Wilayah Persekutuan sponsorship also marks a further step in Misto's broader sports marketing efforts in Southeast Asia. Building on the partnership, the group plans to expand its involvement in local sporting events and initiatives, with a focus on growing FILA’s presence as a performance sports brand in Malaysia and across the region.
A spokesperson for Misto Group said, “This partnership brings FILA closer to Malaysia’s tennis community and gives us an opportunity to showcase our performance products where they matter most — on court. We look forward to working closely with our local teams, athletes and sports communities as we continue to grow FILA’s presence in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.”
